I finally imported my LJ account to DW, now not sure what to do with the LJ account... I've been thinking that deleting it might be the best option, but I'm not sure. What are the rest of the kids doing?

I knitted three hats to send to the Pussy Hat Project for the Women's March in DC. They had forms you could put in the hats with your contact information (if you wanted) to thank people for wearing them.

I heard back from one of my hat wearers, and she sent me a picture of the march!

Womens March DC

How cool is that??

I mentioned the Pussy Hat Project a while back, and I have made three hats that are now in the mail for the Women's Marchers on Jan. 21 in Washington, DC...

Picture behind the cut... )

The goal is to have the hats look like Pussy Ears to remind our new Pussy Grabber In Chief that we know who and what he is.

For the Highland Child, born on the Winter Solstice, we wish a very happy 424th birthday to Duncan McLeod of the Clan McLeod!

I saw this mentioned on my Twitter feed, and it sure seems like a good idea. I can't go to DC to the march, but I'd sure like to support those who will be there at the Women's march on January 21, 2017!

The Pussy Hat Project

I'm going to see if I can get at least a few of these knitted and sent off for the marchers to wear...

So, we've all heard about the half dozen or so naked Donald Trump statues that showed up in cities around the country, right? The one in New York City has been taken down already, but they issued this statement:

"NYC Parks stands firmly against any unpermitted erection in city parks, no matter how small."

And after I stopped laughing, I knew I had to share...

Robert Reich posted a link to this really interesting article about how authoritarian candidates can rise, and so quickly (like Trump). It's long, but worth the read:

In case anybody in the US of A is looking for an alternative to politics on tv this week, SyFy is showing cheesy CGI monsters (snakes, sharks, octopus, piranha, etc, etc) all week, ending the week with the premiere of Sharknado 4!

Amazon pimped this book to me yesterday which claims to be some kind of groundbreaking study of fanfiction... Wonder if anybody knows anything about it:

It's not a big deal compared to what others are going through, but a couple of weeks ago I jammed the middle finger of my left hand, and damaged something so I couldn't straighten the end joint. I wasn't too worried on account of no real pain, no bleeding, clearly not life threatening. I made a Dr. appt which was this morning. They took x-rays and examined it, turns out I managed to do a small fracture to one of the bones and tore/damaged something soft-tissue-ish that's making it so I can't straighten the finger. Upshot is that I now have to wear a splint on the finger 24/7 for the next six weeks. If I let it bend at all, whatever soft tissue healing is going on will get broken again. This makes typing very complicated. Plus, when I mentioned all the things I have to do these days, they said no holding dog leashes in the left hand. Uh huh. Sure. Like that'll happen... (for those that don't know, dogs in training all work on the left side of the handler).

And as if that wasn't enough, since I was at a hand Dr. I mentioned the trigger finger problem I have on my right hand (bent finger gets stuck and you have to force it straight again), so they gave me a cortisone shot in that hand, which makes it feel achey today...
